Methodology

Skill is downstream of decision-making

Two players can have the same handle and the same jumper and be nowhere near the same player. The difference is what happens between what they see and what they do. That is what we train first, and it is what we measure.

01

Assess

Every athlete starts with a full evaluation: skill, physical baseline, and the four brain-first pillars. Scored on a consistent rubric so it can be compared to itself later.

02

Diagnose

Scores expose the real bottleneck. A guard who scores high on skill and low on perception does not need more ball-handling reps — he needs to learn to see.

03

Prescribe

An individualized development block: focus areas, prescribed drills and videos, target numbers, and a review date. Nothing generic.

04

Train

Sessions run against the plan. Coach notes and session data land on the athlete record the same day, not in a notebook.

05

Re-measure

The same assessment is run again. The trend is the truth. Progress reports go to the athlete and the parent automatically.

06

Transfer

The final test is competition. A skill counts as developed only when it shows up in a live game under pressure.

Measured, not claimed

Every score, note, plan, and report lives on the athlete's record inside the Hoop Expansion platform. Athletes and parents see the same trend the coach sees.
